30 ways to promote your website on a shoestring budget - Part 14

14. Bonuses

We all love freebies and your customers are no exception. Ideally you should pile on the bonuses to get people excited. Sometimes they will buy the main product only to get the bonuses.

The easiest and least expensive are informational products – reports, articles, ebooks. You can find literally thousands of these on the internet. Simply go to your search engine and find one that would appeal to your target audience. For example, if you sell wedding cakes, you may wish to give away ebooks or reports on planning a wedding. If you sell children’s clothing, you may wish to give away tips on parenting or ebook which features activities to do with your children.

One other way to increase satisfaction is to offer pieces of your product for free if possible. We have a new book available, The Big Book of Small Business. As part of a service to those who would like verbal reinforcement, each month we send out an audio newsletter which is pulled directly and read word for word from the book. It gives those who value a deeper connection a chance to receive that. It also gives those unfamiliar with the material in the book, a sample prior to purchasing.
